Il Cantuccio, 91Cristopher Street e' uno dei miei posti preferiti . L'ho scoperto per caso un bel po di tempo fa ed oramai e' il mio prediletto quando ho voglia di pizza bianca. Voi direte eh beh dai questo posto e' famoso per i suoi "cantucci" loro sono originari di Prato questa e' la loro specialita, ma io ci vado essenzialmente per la pizza bianca! Ehhh io sono di Roma per cui sono cresciuta con la pizza bianca del forno e debbo dire che quella del Cantuccio e' squisita, tipicamente Italiana, alta al punto giusto condita con un bel po di olio di oliva e non troppo salata. Una squisitezza, da farcire con qualsiasi cosa. Anche i cantucci sono buoni, ne ho portati a casa qualcuno con i fichi, l'albicocca e il cioccolato, prometto di razionare il tutto e spalmarli" nella settimana anche se i cantucci sono squisiti nel latte freddo, la sera...davanti alla tv. Comunque, se siete a New York e volete provare io vi consiglio di andare, inoltre troverete pizza farcita, panini, brioche e cornetti con nutella! che delizia....

 

Hello guys, today i would like to introduce you another nice place where to eat in New York, something nice for a quick lunch or panini, which i consider my comfy food (comfort food). Nothing too fancy but very good food! Im talking about "Il Cantuccio" at 91 Christopher Street, i usually go there for their plain pizza "pizza bianca" as it reminds me the days back when i was still in Rome. I grew up with pizza bianca and im not talking about pizza from pizza restaurants but from those places in Italy which essentially sell over the counter bread and bread products to go,  you know what im talking about right?   Il Cantuccio makes it just as i like it, high enough but not too much, cruncy and soft at the same time with a good amount of oil and not too salty. You can eat it with virtually anything, sweet or salty, from Prosciutto to Nutella! It is my favorite one and i can't get enough of it ...although its too much carb so i put up excuses not to go there too often . And yes the Cantuccio is famous for its "cantucci" almond cookies which are an Italian specialty, which they do different variations with figs, apricots and chocolates. You can get nice pizza , brioches, and croissant over there, i love it. Enjoy!
