Ciao a tutti! Lasciatemi dire che sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa da questa mostra, mi sentivo di nuovo bambina ma con la consapevolezza della difficolta' di creare queste opere, che meraviglia! Sto parlando della mostra "The Art of the Brick" opere create solamente con i LEGO®, si quei mattoncini di cui tutti vanno pazzi, sia grandi e piccini ,
creati dall'artista Nathan Sawaya (http://brickartist.com/) un artista evidentemente appassionato da questi mattoncini, che ha visto oltre ed ha usato la sua creativita' al servizio degli altri. La mostra si tiene al Discovery Times Square, come potrei chiamarlo un Museo? e' molto di piu' e' un grande edificio che ospita mostre anche interattive legate alla scienza alla natura piu' che altro un centro didattico per adulti ed adolescenti! Discovery Times Square si trova appunto a Times Square e 44th Strada, il biglietto per la mostra costa tra i 20 e i 27$ ma penso ne vada veramente la pena, non mi sono mai divertita cosi' tanto. L'artista ha riprodotto con mattoncini LEGO® opere di altri artisti molto famosi, quadri, sculture, monumenti,oggetti di vita quotidiana e simboli vari. Ci sono molte opere ma la visione e' veloce, divertente e leggera. Tra le piu' conosciute le riproduzioni dell'Urlo di Munch, il David, La Niche di Samotracia, il Partenone,La sfinge, Augusto, Van Gogh e tanti altri.

For my friends who can't speak Italian: Hello my friends! This post is to tell you about this exciting new exhibition in New York City, held at the Discovery Times Square. The exhibition is called "The art of the Brick" by artist Nathan Sawaya (http://brickartist.com/) who creates wonderful pieces of art with the LEGO® bricks and the results are amazing! I absolutely loved this exhibition, it is a wonderful event for both adults and kids, it is light and inspiring. The exhibition opens with a message from the artist explaining how he got the idea and how he got involved with these bricks and continues through reproductions of world most famous monuments, artworks, paintings, objects of every day use and symbols. How fresh and creative! The ticket to the show ranges from 20 to 27 $ approximately but the spectacle is guaranteed! The kids were thrilled but the adults were actually more entertained than the little ones! They were the ones getting pictures !
