Long House, dove arte e natura si incontrano

Ciao a tutti, come sapete nel lungo weekend del Memorial Day ho passato 4 giorni agli Hamptons. Vi ho gia' parlato in tanti post passati di questa zona, dove tutto il Jetset Newyorkese si riversa in estate per scappare alla monotonia lavorativa della citta'. Un luogo che pulsa da giugno a Settembre mentre e' vissuto da gente locale nei mesi invernali. Effettivamente e' molto rilassante staccare dal ritmo lavorativo e rilassarsi in questa lingua di terra costeggiata dal mare, ma questo luogo non offre solo mare e spiaggie ma anche tante attivita' e aree da scoprire. Una di queste e' Long House Reserve un grande museo all'aria aperta immerso in un giardino ricco di piante e fiori,

raffinatissimo, un'area dove arte e natura si incontrano e si fondono. Ogni settore di questo giardino e' un paesaggio a parte, creato ad hoc con tantissime specie di vegetazione che mutano con il passare delle stagioni cosi' come muta la nostra interazione con la natura durante il suo processo. E poi ci sono le opere d'arte, perfettamente posizionate per creare un quadro vivente fatto di natura e cultura, opere all'aria aperta che creano un percorso ma anche una storia da raccontare. Tra gli artisti ci sono nomi famosi quali Alexander Calder, Willem de Kooning, Daniel LIebskind, Ricardo Regazzoni e anche Yoko Ono. Potrete passeggiare attraverso le varie aree respirando profumi ormai rari, ammirando le opere d'arte, oppure rilassarvi su una delle piacevolissime aree verdi o lungo il laghetto o visitare il piccolo museo interno d'arte moderna.

Purtroppo questo stupendo giardino e' raggiungibile solo con auto  ed e' aperto il Mercoledi e il Sabato dalle 2 alle 5 di pomeriggio fino al 10 Ottobre ma nei mesi di Luglio e Agosto rimarra' aperto anche il Giovedi e Venerdi. Il costo d'entrata e' di 10 dollari . Hello you all! As you would all know by now I've spent the long Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons. I've told you about this placein different, an area stretched at the far end of Long Island, sorrounded by inlets and the beautiful Ocean, tiny picturesque villages and nice beaches. This is the place which becomes the temporary home of the New York Jet Set by the summer months. You will see high executives, celebrities, and wannabes in these little villages strolling around with their luxury cars brunching with hats and sunglasses at the coolest spot of the moment, just to see and be seen. But aside from that, the place is a nice gig to shut off from the busy life of Manhattan and relax enjoying the sun, the beaches and nature. There's a lot of activities to do as well, sports, wineries and also some exclusive places. I've recently visited Long House Reserve a beautiful peaceful garden where art and nature come together. Rich in plants and flowers the garden is the background to many art installations, in a specific path which will lead you from the beginning to the end of the reserve. I was amazingly surprised, the beauty of this place can't be explained with words. The peace, the nature sounds and the nature scents, the art with top names such as Calder or De Kooning. The garden is a must go, and it is open on Wednesday and Saturday from 2 to 5 pm. In July and August it will be open on Thursday and Friday as well.
